CRS Resources

The Community Rating System (CRS) provides a variety of resources for communities interested in joining or already participating in the CRS. For example, the National Flood Insurance Program Community Rating System Coordinator's Manual provides information about CRS procedures and CRS activities. The CRS Resource Center also has technical resources with more information about earning and calculating credit points.

The most essential document for all communities is the National Flood Insurance Program Community Rating System (CRS) Coordinator's Manual. It outlines the program, explains procedures, lists creditable activities with points assigned to them, and gives examples of how credit is calculated for various activities.

The manual also refers to technical resources that help communities understand the CRS creditable activities.

Technical resources referenced in the National Flood Insurance Program Community Rating System Coordinator's Manual are available at the CRS Resource Center.
You will find general references and activity-specific resources to assist in receiving credit for floodplain management activities. Most activity-specific technical resources are organized by the corresponding floodplain management series included in the manual.
