The FloodSmart.gov web site is the primary online destination where consumers can learn more about flood insurance, ascertain their personal relative risk of flood, and take action to protect themselves from financial loss due to flood. The site provides consumers with basic tools to accomplish these objectives, including the ability to request collateral, sign up for an email newsletter, perform an address-based risk assessment, and locate an insurance agent serving a specified address. All requested information is voluntary and only required if an individual desires information be sent to an email address or physical mailing address.
Name and address of individuals
Site visitors requesting collateral are asked to provide their name and address. These names and mailing addresses are encrypted and emailed to the FEMA fulfillment center for the sole purpose of fulfilling the collateral requests. The addresses are retained and may be used, in aggregate, to provide information to help us make the site more effective. We never use your address information to identify you for any purpose, including the solicitation of flood insurance sales. We never sell or give this information to third parties.
Risk Assessment Addresses
Site visitors requesting a risk assessment are required to enter a property address. The property address is converted to a geocode then compared to flood data in order to return the flood zone results. Addresses are retained only for the purpose of compiling aggregate statistics for the marketing campaign.
Find an Agent Addresses
