2018-19 Customer Acquisition Campaign

Winter Wave

The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) is partnering with communities from coast to coast to close the flood insurance gap through a year-long customer acquisition marketing campaign.

The first “wave” of this campaign runs from November to December in communities along the West Coast – from northern Washington to southern California. Through targeted marketing efforts and on-the-ground outreach from emergency managers, flood safety officials, and other key community partners, the NFIP aims to protect clients and drive policy sales before winter flooding arrives.

The resources on this page are designed to help educate your community’s residents about the importance of purchasing flood insurance now before winter rain becomes winter flooding. Materials can be used throughout the campaign (November-December), being mindful of sensitivities in your area when a flood event is imminent, or a community is recovering from a recent storm.
